My family is very important to me, and my inspiration; I am immensly enjoying experiencing the world second time around with Emily, Mollie (7) and Edie (10). As one of 4 brothers, parenting girls is a great revelation and I spend as much time as I can trying to keep up with them, trying to stay one step ahead and largely failing...
CHARITABLE FUNDRAISING & TEAM BUILDING
I believe that personal wellbeing, enjoyment of the outdoors and teambuilding are essential to maintaining a balanced approach to life. I run whenever I can, although the hound probably enjoys this fractionally more than me.
I have been lucky enough to work in environments over the last two decades in which I have been able to apply this ethos to a series of annual events which I use to bring together the large marketing network of agency staff for building relationships; as well as raising funds for valuable causes.
FISHING & THE COUNTRYSIDE
I am a passionate game fisherman (trout and salmon: the latter are a bit elusive), I am probably most at ease on the riverbank, turning the soil in our organic allotment or walking in the countryside.
TRAVEL
I love travel, particularly the way it fuels the imagination...whilst having young children has required the world tour to be reined back a bit, exploring the world at its grass roots has been a real eye opener over the years...whether building schools in Cwa, Angola, a run in with a three legged jaguar in Belize, an Iban wedding in Sarawak, in the thick of a civil war in Gilgit, diving off the coral reefs of the Philippines or altitude sickness 15,000 feet up Mt Rakoposhi....I wouldn't have missed a second of it.

LIFE LONG LEARNING
I try to adopt an approach of achieving new goals on a frequent basis, teaching myself photography, fly fishing and a variety country pursuits from scratch. I have spent the last 12 months trying to learn to play the guitar with the dawning realisation is that I should probably have started a few decades earlier...
